The time of year when game companies announce when we can expect to see their games on shelves before half of them get delayed continues, with big-hitters EA the newest corporation to reveal their release calendar for the 2011 fiscal year, which runs from 1st April 2010 to 31st March 2011.
Looking at the major titles of note in EA’s first quarter, 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa arrives for consoles and handhelds on 27th April, followed by Skate 3, which will be on store shelves sometime in May, and Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11 in June. Also down for a Q1 release is PC title Need for Speed World, although no specific date or month has yet been confirmed for the game.
Headlining the releases in EA’s second quarter, which runs from 1st July to 31st September 2010, is the much hyped new Medal of Honor game for consoles and handhelds, along with the hotly anticipated, open-world PC title APB. Besides these two it’s pretty much sports games all the way, with FIFA 11, Madden NFL 11, NHL 11, and NCAA Football 11 all set for release, along with new PC title EA Sports FIFA Online.
